Description:
NATIONAL MARIONETTE THEATRE is one of the oldest continually running marionette theaters in the United States. Founded in 1967 by artistic director David A. Syrotiak, this award-winning company has been entertaining audiences around the world with their extraordinary productions for over forty years. Noted for their amazing manipulation technique and imaginative fully staged productions, National Marionette Theater is committed to bringing you the very best in family entertainment.
The company travels with their own theater complete with full stage sets, lighting and sound systems. We bring everything needed to perform our show in your venue. All you need to supply is adequate space, two electrical outlets and an audience!
For the 2010-11 season, National Marionette Theatre will be offering three different touring productions: "Hansel and Gretel", "Sleeping Beauty" and "Pinocchio".
SLEEPING BEAUTY - The princess Aurora has been asleep for almost one hundred years when our hero, Prince Steffon learns of the her story. He resolves to find the sleeping princess and rescue her from the evil fairy Belladonna. Told from the prince's point of view, our newest production combines beautifully crafted marionettes with the timeless music from Tchaikovsky's ballet. Recommended for family audiences ages 4 and up.
HANSEL AND GRETEL - The story of Hansel and Gretel has captured the imagination of audiences for generations. In our adaptation, two master puppeteers bring the most famous of the Grimm Brother’s stories to life. Featuring exquisitely crafted marionettes, scrolling scenery and the beautiful music of Engelbert Humperdinck, Hansel and Gretel is sure to delight audiences of all ages!
